ロレックス創業者”ハンス・ウイルスドルフ”の最愛の妻とビジネスにおいて最大のパートナーを一度に亡くし、その思いの中で、ハンスウイルスドルフが自分自身でそのモデルの開発に取り組んだことで、1945年の40周年創業のパーティーの席で新作を発表するという前代未聞の出来事がデイトジャストの誕生となった。 時針のカナに連動したカレンダー盤のセンター位置に時針が2回転24時間目に丁度、機械部に取りつけられたアーム型のバネが落ちるようにハート型のカムを取りつけ、そハート型のカムのカレンダー盤の上部には31日のカレンダー盤の歯を送り出すクリックが装備されることで、24時間目の12時位置にバネの勢いクリックがカレンダー盤を一瞬に送り出しデイトを瞬時に変更することを可能とした。 それらの歴史を作り上げたきた伝説のモデル達。ファーストRef 4467.から始まり、5030. 6030. 6075. 6105 . 6305. 6309. 6605. 1601へと人間の手で組み立てられた時代はここで終わる。その中で第三世代として位置づけされる今回の逸品は、当然特別の証たる文字盤は当然のごとく機械内部のネジ一本から変更されて形跡もなく、完璧。機械は645ベースとなるローターと機械の各穴に直結する凛冽部分をより低くし腕に嵌める時の違和感を無くした745キャリバー搭載。当然、天輪に凹のリム部分を設け、そこに精度微調整用のチラネジを装備することで天輪が回転することで起こる抵抗力を無くすことで精度の安定性を図ったスーパーバランス採用。最高の自動巻きのストーリーを持つ。
