In 1963, Patek Philippe’s automatic movement lineage, which began in 1956, evolved from the Caliber 12-600AT to the Caliber 27-460, reaching its ultimate form with the late-version 27-460 fitted to this exceptional timepiece. While the early 27-460 retained traces of the rotor mounting screws inherited from the 12-600AT, these were completely eliminated in the later version. The solid 18K gold rotor was also enlarged to nearly the full diameter of the movement, improving winding efficiency while creating a striking visual presence. The result is a movement that perfectly balances technical excellence with timeless beauty.
