In 1974, the name Chariot appeared for the first time in the dress-watch group of the Seiko catalog.
But what exactly was the Chariot? What was the true idea behind it?
That same year, an extraordinary model emerged from the Chariot collection: Seiko’s first design to feature an exceptionally wide bezel, paired with a substantial cylindrical case measuring over 35 mm.
Its bold proportions and surprisingly weighty presence seemed almost to challenge the very definition of the elegant Chariot itself.
